Poll #976892 How does the saying go?

When someone fails at something, but you note that they tried really hard, do you:

give them an "A" for effort; at least in the 'Effort' category they did really well.
give them an "E" for "Effort; they still failed, but was above an "F" due to their hard work (and, of course, that Effort starts with "E").
